You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. - Genesis 50:20

Music has always stirred my soul since I can remember. I sang so much that my mom used to join me in singing contests when I was young and I would win. I wanted to be Leah Salonga and sing in musical plays. When my mom left for work abroad, I was left with people who told me mean things about my singing and I believed them. I believed them so much that when my classmates joined me in an inter-class singing competition as a teenager, I went on stage and found that I couldn't sing anymore. It sounded so bad that I never sang in public since then.

I was left with people who told me mean things about my singing and I believed them.... so much that I couldn't sing anymore.

When I became a Christian, I've always felt God's calling to serve in the Worship Ministry but I've avoided it for as long as I can.

Years later, God brought me and my family to a new place and prepared everything for us; He gave us a new home and a new church community until I couldn't avoid his call any longer and auditioned. I told myself that if I failed, it only meant that it wasn't from God - Maybe I was just trying to redeem something I lost.

"Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. - Proverbs 19:21".

But truly"Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. - Proverbs 19:21".

God gave me a gift and its purpose is to usher our congregation to worship God in Spirit and Truth - something that I may not have done as a performer. And in case you're wondering, God has blessed and prospered me with more than enough without having to join the entertainment industry. Now I can sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth. I will make His faithfulness known through all generations (from Psalms 89:1).

Let me end this post with my prayer for you. Play it. Sing it. And be filled with the Lord today.
